Taking on assistant managers is a bad idea imo, goos assistant managers rarely make good managers

TBH I don’t really know enough about his managerial credentials to really have an opinion on whether I’m pleased we’ve got him or not, just going to have to give him support and hope for the best.
Know what you’re saying, although he’s only been at Norwich a short time. He’s young (think he’s only 36) so will be ambitious and wanting to make a name for himself. No doubt he’ll have a modern approach to tactics & training, and have his own ideas on how to motivate and coach players.
It’s taken a couple of months to make the appointment, so it’s not something we’ve rushed into. After speaking to our chairman on more than one occasion, and listening to what he’s had to say about appointing “the right man” I’m confident that he won’t have taken this decision lightly, and without great thought.
Guess only time will tell, but Clark will be under great pressure to succeed here, hopefully he’s got the skill and commitment to take the club forward.

3 1/2 year contract is a bit risky isn't it?!

At first I thought that, but I think it shows that the new chairman has fiath in Clarks abillity to perform. He's taken a long time to choose someone he feels is right & will take the club forward. We've had about 10 managers in the last 15 or so years so we some stabillity.
Other thought is, if Clark does perform, and a bigger club comes in for him & he's got a long contract, it will mean more compensation. If he's rubbish, i'm willing to bet he'll have a clause somewhere in his contract with regards to us not having to pay full compensation to him.
Dean Hoyle is a smart man, and I dont think he'd given a 3 1/2 year deal without being 100% certain it will work out, although in Football you never know.
MarkM - Who's your mate, i'll tell you if he's any good or not

I know he was very highly regarded when he was first team coach and Reserve team manager at Newcastle. Not sure what he'll be like making the step up but if nothing else you've got a bloke who'll give everything for the cause

Good player is Craney, scored a few as well this season so hopefully he'll be in Clarks plans.
Cheers for that Moe, as long as he gives 100% then the fans will take to him.
