Hi there i am having a problem with my corsa b 1999 v reg
Everytime i go to select first gear to pull away it crunches into the gear, but when i select second gear then into first it goes in fine without any problem,
also (for example) when i am in netural roling up to trafic lights and they turn to green before i get to stop, when i go to select first gear to pull away and pick up speed again it crunches and grinds as if i am not putting my foot on the clutch atall and my foot is to the floor...I then need to either stop and select second then into first or just select second and pull away and its really annoying me, cant get to the bottom of it
any help or advice on my problem would be much appreciated

Vauxhall boxes are a bit crap for that anyway IMO but it is the syncromesh.

yep i've always found that difficult too. Is it stiff when you try to select first while you not moving? If so, i had the same problem and i just dealt with it for abit, but after a week or so, it became difficult in all gears, especially reverse. I adjusted the clutch and it solved the problem.
