My PC cost around that and should be able to play those games. It doesn't include a monitor, keyboard, mouse or speakers, though, or a case.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+
Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H
OCZ Platinum 2GB DDR2 800MHz Dual Channel
2x Western Digital 320GB HDD's
BFG GeForce 8800GT 512MB OC2
Crucial VX-550 PSU
Also just remembered that my DVD and CD drives are from my old PC as well, but add about £20 for a decent DVD+RW drive.
Re-read your first post: if you can build a PC with a Blu Ray drive that can play those games on that budget then I would kiss your feet.

Blu Ray drive is still going to eat £150-£180 of your budget so you'd not have much left for the rest

Get a blu ray drive for 70.
For playing games and watching blu ray films in that budget you could possibly consider a ps3 though, unless you need it as a computer as well.

My PC can play GTA, NFSU etc and has half the spec of what Dave has.
Mine cost alot more than £400 but I've had it a couple of years now and was the bollocks when I built it.

Indeed I didn't think about the players. I was looking at the re-writers the other day. I think I'll wait for a bit.
