Glad to hear that about the tyres

Re the value; certainly not depreciating at any great rate anyway. As you say, low mileage examples are going up in value. I'm at 60k so middle of field and I am lucky enough to work within walking distance of the office so don't need the car for a commute.

Suppose I'd better declare my plans for it...

- Coilovers. I do like the DRC suspension so reluctant to fit coilovers although it sits a little high for my liking. If DRC fails spectacularly then I'll prob be forced to go down coilover route.

- Fit cold air feed. RS4 very sensitive to fluctuations in intake temperature.

- Remove primary cats or gut them out.

- MRC stage 2 remap.

Serious question, what's it like on fuel if driving normally? Do you see 20mpg?

On a spirited B-road drive, over a whole run of maybe 2 hours I usually get 17-19mpg.

I haven't really checked what it is like around town as I do it so infrequently. Will make a point of checking next time I end up doing city driving.

Considering it's over double the displacement of my old Impreza, I find fuel consumption reasonable but then my expectations are maybe warped slightly. If I'd come from a diesel then I would perhaps have some concerns

Just looked in your project thread, it looks pretty mean. Bet that has some road presence.

So, had the old Audi barge on the rollers this weekend past:

Good turnout for local RS club, over 15 B7's, 2 B5's and a RS2:

And a wee video of the runs

Made 391PS 383Nm which I'm quite happy with for the moment

It'll probably need a good carbon clean.

It was actually the highest output for a standard engine of the day. If it had been 10-20PS lower I'd be looking into cleaning soon. Primary reason for mapping going forward will be to get rid of the boring 3rd gear.

Cold air feed arrived this morning so will get that fitted shortly.

Thanks. I think I've got the exhaust just right now after a bit of fiddling with silencers etc.

Since the last update, I've fitted a cold air feed. Had already planned to fit one but hurried it along after getting high intake air temp fault code. No pictures of this though. You need to remove an auxiliary radiator to do so but high water temp is hardly a problem in northern Scotland

Had a good run over the weekend around the Cairngorms area; some stunning roads and nice cars accompanying too...

Sounds the nuts too. Made mine sound a little bit weedy in comparison.
