It wont cost you any more as its already on retention when you buy it and the transfer fee it payed, you have a year to put it on a vehicle or you need to put it on retention again.

they said i need it to go onto a car within 4 weeks 
dvla dont have the irish plates on there site

Best off reading tbh as DVLA are as helpfull and polite as an dude from Iraq who's just been bummed by a US soldier.

Irish plate, ewww unsure then, but if its in the UK the law will be the same.
Can't help with the plate, but you can still buy the reg on retention, and as said, you've got a year to do with it as you want (or just put it back on retention for another year, and so on...)

Agreed, they make my blood boil. And FFS if your going into your local 'office' then check, check, check, check again, and again that you have EVERY bloody form (part a, b, b13, c5, a part 6, bb part 7a154746s) or they turn you straight away without saying sorry
