While shopping (again) today I was trying to find a smart jacket i can wear at new year. I'll be dressed smart/casual i.e. shirt and jeans (Armani ones, so quite smart jeans as far as jeans go).
Then i though, fuck it, i'll save myself some ££ and just wear my suit jacket.
Is that still acceptable these days? I still see a lot of people wearing them and i think it looks good, but just curious to see what you think.
Or does it depend entirely on the person wearing it and the rest of the outfit?

i wear a brown suit jacket with cream/brown shirts and brown shoes with straight cut dark posh jeans - looks good
black jackets i am not a fan of
i have 3 or 4 brown ones that i like, single breasted lol
parkers do amazing jackets for the price, insides are awsome

Looks shit imo, I have a mate who does it. We don't have the heart to tell him he looks a bit of a nob. Plus he wears shitty cat boots with it, not cool. Lovely lad though.

Thats kind of what i was thinking, but it still seems to be quite popular.
Bear in mind that my jeans aren't stone washed light blue ones, they're quite dark.
I think i'll give my outfit a trial tomorrow and see how it looks. Got a funny feeling i'll decide against it. That fact that i'm having seconds thoughts isn't a good sign.

very "ross from friends" in my opinion. wear a ralph lauren shirt with a white t-shirt underneath you could get away with the preppy american look
