Friend on facebook just uploaded this picture. Is it more or is the Airbox on the wrong way round

I take it the pipe going to the left isnt a cold air intake

no it is not, tbh that is probably restricting his air flow more then standard.

The air inlet is up the other end by his strut

I'm also failing to see how the original air filter fitted in that gap/sucked in cold air...

I still don't see the issue, is the filter itself the wrong way round or something?

the air intake side of the BMC filter is so close to the strut it may be limiting air into the engine! were as it would be best facing the front of the car!

Cant help much on the positioning, but going by my CDA, then that one is on backwards too!
The side with the CDA sticker should be closest to the engine!
Hope this helps

welcome to what the 1.25 zetec and the 1.6 have with there plastic manifolds.. I have fitted cone filters to there engines and unfortunatly that is the only place for it.. Bloody cars throttle body is hidden inside that inlet manifold.. Pipe work is annoying at the best of times.. Nothing wrong with where it is its the only place a big filter like that can go..

My mates 2.0 focus CDA sits at 90* to the wing with only about 10 mill gap, (due to the stupid battery posistion, but seems to work fine, as it doesnt suck in too much air and flat spot.

That is about right. The airbox on the misses' 1.4 is very strange. Not so clear cut than a Corsa B.
