do they put something stick into ur fuel tank?
they can do but never ever seen it happen. If its a cheap car the savings you make will cover the cost of the car if you ever get caught which is unluikely/

either a 306 Dturbo or a nova/corsa d/td imho, 306 lovely cars to drive, rather nippy, some good trim levels, but french corsa 1.5td pretty nippy, had 450 to a tank driven easy.

Our 2.0DTi astra cost £2k in May (60k on the clock). If you drive it sensibly, and your on your own in the car for less weight blah blah motorway driving, it will see 50+mpg, 55 litre tank, costs £45 ish to fill
edit - on our recent run of majority 60 - 90mph distance driving and a pinch of about town driving over christmas netted us 500 miles with the light on, I reckon it had at least another 50 miles in it and it was a fully loaded car most the time, and I wasnt hanging about

tbh, your 12v is probably as cheap as it'll get. Bigger engined diesel cars are only more economical compared to petrol alternatives.
What you're spending on fuel sounds about right. And another car won't see it reduce enough for you to notice imho.
Driving the 12v with economy in mind will save you just as much. Drive at 60mph than 70 for example. It won't take you much longer considering rush hour traffic and don't rev the nuts off it.
A 1.5D Corsa won't be much more entertaining given the circumstances.
I always see 45mpg+ in my 12v. For anyone that sees a lot less must mean their car isn't running right imho or it won't last long because they're ragging it to within 1krpm of its life.

You have to change them a lot more anyway don't you if you are running veg oil?
if you go 306 td, make sure its a bosch pump one, that way you can run veg oil no worries.

Best thing really is to slow down. I get 500 miles to 50 litres ay 60 and 400 miles doing 70.
Also, bear in mind, diesel costs around 15p a litre more.
