ive got a power boost valve on my 1.4 16v sri is it worth having? or is it only worth having if the car is setup properly..

modifications to engine are

power box inlet
cams
4-2-1 manifold + exhaust
panel filter

and im getting roughly 70miles to £20 (steady driving with the odd heavy right foot)

it smells strong of fuel, but im guessing it may be the boost valve feeding alot more fuel then it should?

also the sensor just after the air box is missing, ive asked my mate and he said its because its got a chip in it or something, but he said plug it back in..

any ideas

as far as i have heard, power boost valves are a waste of time as they just use up all your fuel all the time

i'd recommend to take it out and see if it stops smelling of fuel and using so much fuel up aswell

All they will do it just turn it down. All a power boost valve is, is an adjustable fuel regulator. But on a small engine with mild tuning shouldn't need much more fuel.

So either pay someone to sort your's out of get a standard fpr

I've just got 140 miles to £20 and i'm by no means a slow driver. That works out at 28.6 MPG which is really low as i'm normally getting 33 MPG but it is service time.
