Need to make the following circuit work, but it wont:

12v +ve input - 12v LED - 1A diode -
12v +ve input - 12v LED - 1A diode -
12v +ve input - 12v LED - 1A diode - all 4 into common 2k resistor -ground
12v +ve input - 12v LED - 1A diode -

Wired it up but it didnt work when tested. Could i have blown the components when soldering by overheating?

Never built circuits before so struggling with it all.

yes - LED with short leg to -ve, diode with stripe to -ve, just think i must have burnt some of the diodes out with ham fisted soldering.

by putting 12v in and testing after each component i should be able to see if i have burnt something out?

the theory is that when the inlet on my car alters, it sends a 12v signal to the ecu, lighting the circuit and the LEDs
