I'm looking to buy my first vauxhall which is going to be either a Corsa GSi or a Sport 1.6. I have heard B pillars were a problem with the GSi's and early ones but to what age I've no idea. can someone please tell me the differences between them and good points/bad points.

check the chassis rails and legs for rust and the b pillers for cracks. If they are all ok and the engine passes emissions it should be ok

I would love an arden blue 1.6! theres a really nice 1 on pistonheads with speedlines for £1900. I would get the speedlines painted white and slam her to the floor!

GSi has a better bodykit Sport has a better interior

Older GSi's had the better engine (C16XE) newer ones had the same engine as the sport (X16XE) so no difference in speed...

Most people go for the sport and put a gsi kit on

Not really, the handbooks/owners manuals stated that they can use upto 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles.
Its just either a- people didn't read them or b- tere so old now people dont pass them on.

Gsi c16xe L-M(middle)
Gsi x16xe M(middle)-N

Check chassis rails for rust.
Tailgates rot around and underneath the spoiler.
Cracked b-pillar is an MOT fail (altho mine has passed every time)
