Hi,
Right something which has been bugging me for a while now. My computer is at the opposite side to the room to my telephone line. I have the internet which obviously connects to the phone socket. This means i'm running a very large extension across the living room.
Is there anyway to have this wireless or something similar. The internet box needs to be connected to the pc also. I'm stuck

yes, get a wireless router that plugs into your phone socket.
then get a wireless card for your PC which allows the PC to talk to the router, and therefore the internet, wirelessly

I mean the network cable being connected to the wireless box?
Or can i just buy the wireless adaptor, plug it into the pc and it will pick it up?

Well don't buy that one if you're going to get an adapter - get a Netgear one from Ebuyer - about £15iirc - far better
