Well that's it, the cars nackered.
It driven into the garage to diagnose a mild misfire, and was towed out by THEAA with a broke gugion pin and collapsed con-rod and i guess it's going to the great scrapyard in the sky now due to the times being hard and that
Let's take a moment:
Oh woe is me.......................................
Well the engine is going to the sky anyway, the car however will be staying here with me where i will (eventually) be getting round to sticking a X18XE1 init with if plans go2 plan aswell, the car may look "slightly" different again as got a few bits

Sorry to hear that Steve
Any ideas about when it'll be back on the road with a new engine? Have you got other transport to get about in at the moment, or you having to use good old public transport?

That sounds brilliant!
Where did you manage to get that from? I ended up paying more than that to get my engine fixed, would have much rathered a new engine like you though!!
Sounds like you got yourself a really good deal though fair play!

I found it on:
www.carsparefinder.co.uk
3 companies responded but only one of them actually ang me up asking if it was competitive and so on! Their price was in the middle but chose them because they seemed interested in business!

Well on the 1.4/1.6 sport the XE1 fits on the standard mounts but think for eg the 1.0 & 1.2 all you gotta change is the driver side mount i think.
I got a lady contact in Aberdare, the same lady who did the bodywork on my car, she's gona give the engine a FULL service inc timing belt, fan belt etc and installing it = £200
So to say im chuffed is an understatement

Ah well, found another one, paying £350 this time but it's got 8K less miles on it, so swings and roundabouts i suppose!
