Return rate on them at the moment is shocking - I wouldn't bother, you'll get more guaranteed in a fixed ISA.
Yeah, you COULD win a decent sum, but far more likely you'll just get a £50 every now and then which is hardly worth the effort.

No, the amount paid out each month is linked to interest rates, so they've slashed the amount being given away so therefore you have lesser chance of 'winning'.
Yes, you do get back what you put in, but it might not increase in value, which means it is actually devaluing.

my grandad won £50,000 3 weeks before he died
and since he has died his bonds (which are now in my nans name) bring in between £50-£250 every month
