I have just received my new laptop and am wanting to tranfer all my data across.
I have 8GB worth of data made up of everything from photos to music to word/excel documents
What is the easiest, cheapest and transfer these to my new laptop?
I was thinking of buying an 8GB usb pen drive, savign them all on there then simply plugging that into my laptop to transfer them over. Would that work OK?
Sorry, Im a novice at all this IT stuff
Thanks

You could get a 2gb usb pen for around £1 and do it that way, bit by bit. Just copying and pasting data.
Would save spending the extra £10 on an 8gb one for something you may not use again.

Or you could use an Ethernet cable and create a home network.

Or you could put it all in a big zip file, upload it to the internet, such as rapidshare / megaupload.
And just download it on your new computer

just get a usb cable? and connect it to the laptop and computer... wont take long to copy 8gb of data, or as whittie set, get an ethernet cable and set up a network and transfer it that way...

I use my 16 GB drive all the time, but I think I might get a 32GB one instead Downloading 720p movies using the uni connection only takes about 8 minutes @ 10MB/s, so I like to abuse it
