Have a problem with my 1.2 engine...
it had trouble pulling away and revving...
it sounds like it is bogging... for instance like it is on throttle boddies on something.. sounds very lumpy...
when you rev it doesnt pull as it should... it feels like a constant flat spot... like its struggling..
at random times between 2-4k the enginge management light pops on then disapeers again..
i have absolutely no idea what the problem is.. so any help or any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
thank you in advance!!

Unsure as to whether it will work when the EML is off, check the tutorials for a paperclip test I think there is one there...
It's best to know what is wrong encase you got replacing the MAF and it's not that, could get costly

The little black box on the throttle body, that the ICV, or stepper motor if you like...
Post up a photo of your engine if your still unsure

Is it idling poorly? My m8 had a similar problem. Turned out the throttlebody was caked in shite lol. Could be worth cleaning it out anyway. Not a difficult job either

right.. i changed the air flow meter and the eml light now no longer comes on...
it runs boggy still... but has more "umph" in it... if that makes sense..
it now doesnt idle properly... it sits at 600rpm...
then revs itself to 1200rpm.. then sinks to 800rpm... just really random...
this morning i took of the throttle body and cleaned up the oil and gunk from inside..
but im waiting on the ICV to be delivered to the motor factors before i can fit it..
i had a look and i know where it is now so im confident about fitting that =)
so its all a game of waiting now...
who knows... i could be re-bumping this thread tomorrow lol.
cheers for the help so far people
