What sort of savings? There are soooo many different ones out there.
I.e. will you need/want instant access to your money etc?
BTW - rates are shit everywhere.

Which is of course is exactly what the governmant want you to do. Which i think is part in parcel of the rates going right down. "If saving brings nothing back....fuck it, lets spend it"

For what you get on the interest rates at the moment, stick it in Premium Bonds. Ok you dont earn interest but its nice to receive a little cheque through the post once in a while.
My parents have just moved all their savings to premium bonds... they both got a £50 cheque through the post the other day. Brucey bonus!

Agree, problem atm is it seems Labour are just looking at Economics text books and using theories from the 20th C to try and get us out of this crisis

Wise move. Plus you get the chance of winning £1,000,000 twice a month.
The odds suck tho

Hes not too keen on them by the looks of it, one of my uni friends on average gets £50 every 3/4 months with about £500 in there

Odds are awful on the premium bonds.
I've got money coming out of a fixed term ISA in April - I've arranged to lend it to my sister for a 10% return
Well, it was her idea and cheaper than her getting a loan.....
