OK, got a baxi combi 80e. Builder is in at the mo and has taken chimney breast out of kitchen, he had to re-route some pipes including rad pipes to the front room. Have noticed since this if the boiler fires up for CH when it gets to full temp (80 deg according to the LEDS on the front) it starts to make a wierd howling / whistling noise. Anyone any idea's what it could be? Originally did need boosting back up just after pipes were re-routed as presure was low but its now back @ 1.5bar. If I turn the know for CH down a fair bit it doesnt seem to do it, but its always been on max and never had the problem till now.

He is back tomorrow so gonna look at it just wondering what people think...

did he touch of of the isolation valves for the heating circuit?

maybe one partially closed not letting the heat out the boiler quick enough and maybe kettling in the heat exchanger?

does it reach temp pretty quick?
could also be some air coming out the auto air vent mate, tried bleeding all the rads?

id check those 2 1st and go from ther

not sure buddy, cant find damn key to try bleading ( house is upside down ). It reaches temp pretty quick as normal. Second option sounds interesting actually as originally when we boosted the pressure it gradually dropped loads - was mentioned that would probably be the auto air vent.

Thanks for your feedback

Mine sometimes howls like you say, even when we havent changed the temperature, its always when its windy outside Possibly the wind blowing over the external pipe and sending the noise back down??
