I think it's a shame because he is a good defender, but England have plenty of good defenders, why create a problem that doesn't need to be created? As said before pick someone else, Woodgate has been good for Spurs.

i really rate king but this knee problem will cripple his england career. id have terry and carragher myself but hes still technically 'retired' hes the most consistant defender in the prem league

Id love to see rio and woodgate together at the back, at Leeds they had a real understanding, both are fairly comfortable on the ball - unfortunatly Terry wont ever be dropped if hes fit, he seems to carry this tag of Mr England, maybe in revelance to being an out n out thug

I really do think that if Carragher put his dummy back in, Capello would pick him more than McLaren did.
