is it normal for it to take up so much space on my hard drive?
gf has installed it and computer is a bit slow getting.
Would i be best to just get an external usb hard drive?

not 100% sure
i never use it so need to check if its program or the music
take it its a common problem loaf

iTunes is usually around 60mb. This shouldn't slow down your pc. However, 60GB may do...
I have known iTunes to run slow on Windows running machines. But, Mac, it's fine.
