Hi folks,
my 5yr old hifi shat itself last night, so ill be needing a new one.
it needs:
DAB
Optical audio in.
sleep timer
cd player.
not too fussed about weather its micro, midi or separates etc.
would like a half decent brand though, no hitachi/ goodmans.
but ideally <£500

get your self on ebay, look for a pioneer or yamaha amp, look for a dab tuner if its not built in, and some eather b&w speakers or somthing similar, my system cost me less than that and its all top gear!

Denon mini system
Very good unit, sorted one out for my mate and installed it in his kitchen cupboard, very compact, full of features and is surprisingly powerful for its size, take a look
I could also sort you out with some cheap Monitor Audio speakers to go with it as well. Radius 90's in Walnut, RRP £250 a pair, can do them £125 a pair, brand new.

Seperates all the way, no contest at all. Have a look on ebay. Set of B&W 601s would be a nice start, in terms of cd and amp not really sure in that price bracket but Marantz and Rotel are good. You could go for an Arcam CD 72 which is a stonking 2nd hand buy, and maybe an Arcam A70 amp. Try avforums if you need any help
