due to all my torque from my honda engine knackering my clutch I am in need of a new one. Whilst its in bits I am tempted to get a diff in there.
Who else makes good ones apart from quaife? I have heard or wavetrac or something that seemed to get good ratings also.
My other option is one from a JDM integra or civic but these are limited to around 250bhp so will limit me if I get engine mods in the future.
Also people that have them do they affect day to day driving badly? as I know the mk1 focus rs caused a bit of a fuss from a few people
Cheers Gav

The focus RS torque steer problems were from unequal length drive shafts and not the best front suspension setup. Its twitchy aggressive 'grip and go' handling was due to the lsd but to me thats not a problem... without the LSD it would have been 10 times worse to drive.
LSD's improve handling, thats the whole point of them. Quaife do one as my mates just had one put in his but not sure of any other brands but i would have thought others would make one.
TBH id go with the cheapest option, depends ofcourse how long you plan to keep the car.

get a quaife ATB- u wont regret it.
There are diffs which are proper plate diffs, but they're for race use and will wear out...
ATB quaife lsd diff's are indestructable and will be fine on road. u may get more torque steer, but thats because your wheels are gripping the road more, rather than spinning up. best mod u can get for your CTR.

£600 to get the clutch done on its own so I might as well spunk a bit more
All the places I have found are fully booked until june though
Going to try a local gearbox specialist on monday to see what they can do

Wavetrac
or
quaife
thats the decision. Quaife are more well known but one of the specialist I was talking to was saying the wavetrac were better. Used them on their time attack ep3 so must be alright

Quaife because its not a clutch type like a trans-x so you won't need to replace anything for a long long time.

Only thing against the DC5 one is if I go for bigger power in the future it might not be up to the job.
Plus the only ones I can find have to be imported which is hassle

Think this is what I am going with now. As a company I have been in touch with can supply me a DC5 box with an LSD fitted. This will work out alot cheaper then the quaife route.
The company I have been in talks with have them on various cars running over 300bhp so mine will be fine
Apparently its a "less aggressive" diff then the quaife. What does this mean exactly? You would have to give it more before it begins to lock?
Just need to decide if I should get a standard clutch or a slightly uprated one now

Unless you're going to be running 350bhp OEM diff will be fine. How many Super/Turbocharged Tegs do you see running different diffs?

Just mainly wondering how they differ in feel to the quaifes etc. I assume there will still be a big difference between not having one and having a JDM one.
Apparently I can px my box against it aswell so it will be cheaper still

Potentially Getrag, Hewland and ZF Gav. But chances are they will be even dearer than Quaife.
Quaife stuff is excellent. Especially considering the price jump beyond their share of the market.
On any car, an LSD is better than no LSD. I dread to think what my RS would drive like with a conventional differential.

What warrenty do they offer though? I know id rather pay the premium knowing im getting good brand new quality with a lifetime warrenty. Well I have, and the quaife is brilliant
