hi,
just thought i would introduce myself before i ask for advise for everthing
i drive a red nova
(pics will come once i have figured out how to use them)
the reason i have joined is because my friend has just bought a corsa sport 1.4 x14xe iirc
and is having alot of problems with it!
he hasnt got the internet so i will be asking questions on his behalf

so 1st question:
this car HAD 12 months MOT on it before it was virtually untouched for a year
he took his car for MOT
and on the way was overheating a little bit because the fan was not cuttin in
also on idle it runs really lumpy
and misfires slightly
also it has a pipercros induction kit which when on idle it sounds like a hoover!!
any common probs with these engine to why it does this?
any help will be much appriciated cheers

does anyone know why it would be running so bad also the emissions are really bad and it overfueling
can anyone tell me or guess which area its wrong either engine or sensors etc
if i cant find out my mate said the corsa is going!!

hi mate, not reeally sure what to suggest, but seems to sound like whats happening to my girlfriends car apart from the overheating.
i have tried alot of various things, so if u read through my help thread for her car. you will see what i have tried and what others have suggested

cheers i think it started overheating because the fan was not cutting in
been told it may be the lambar sensor
also goin to do a paperclip test on it tommorow hopefully

As for running lumpy, id just do all differant checks, i found mine was running Lumpy for a while because of the new Air Filter.
Checked Oil. silly question but ive just done mine and its running sweeter than ever, also spark plugs, 2 minute job and worth it really.
not a mechanic and could be wrong in my sayings but a reply is a reply eh lol
