a friends ka,the heater only blows hot,

now the quick answer is the heater valve is stuck/dead.

ok,

but there is another prolem too, the car will run upto temp, and the fan will cut in, but the radiator is cold and both pipes going to it,
also with the resivior cap removed, when you rev it, it does seen to be pushing coolent round.

could the heater valve cause this,? or is the thermostat busted aswell?

it is the ohc chain driven duratec 1.3

cheers

nope, you have to turn it off and let it cool down, the rad is cold, so fan coming on wont help anything,

im just wondering if the heater valve can stop the water circulating throu the rad, or its the thermostat thats stuck.

Its fine to just take the thermostat out for a short time, but usually the gasket on the thermostat housing rips when you remove it so get one of those too.
