Just a question for my Sis.

She has got a Corsa Sport and wants to make it better.
She has

17" Dare wheels with ET49 offset (yet to go on)

She wants an induction kit and lowering springs. I suggested a PVD induction kit and the 60mm Apex springs because she wants it low what do you lot think. Plus is it worth going for a full exhaust system or will a back box do. Any other worth while power upgrades etc.

What sort of power are you lot getting from the Sports aswell

Cheers.

Drill the standard airbox and put a panel filter (bout £35). It will give more power than an induction kit.

So what mods have you lot got then. I think she wanted the induction kit for the noise anyway.

alright m8, i have a 1.4 sport.
I'd say its better to get a whole system rather than just backbox. Sounds a lot better.
I'm not sure about the springs cos i've got little wheels.
Induction kit will be fine. although i've heard the PVD cone is a odd fit

They r 90bhp as standard, and with the minor mod's i wouldn't expect much gains.
Think Matt C had a 1.4 engine with good stat's.

-60
17s (already got)
induction kit
exhaust

Right

-60mm. Wouldn't do it unless shes bought a/or wants to buy a whole new suspension setup. Going any lower than -40mm on standard shoxs will shag them up.

Induction kit, right, to give the best sound on a 1.4 16v, go for a Piper Cross. Others sound good, but having hearing green, K+N, PiperX etc etc, i'd say the PiperX was the best. God one is a "Cossie Cone" or its been re-labelled as a BFO cone. However, myself and a few other people have an original Cossie Cone. Think its a 63mm neck diametre. Go to ur local car modding shop n have a look round. Its a complete foam unit with metal backing plate. Sounds great when accompanied byyyyyy

a Decent exhaust. I had that cone above and a magnex 6x4 rear box for god knows how long and it still sounded (and im not the only one to say it) one of the best Corsa noises i've heard. Its great. I've moved onto a cat back system. But, in reality, the difference between having a CAT back and a rear box isn't all that different. CAT back may be a little louder and may give u another 1mph top end n maybe 1-2bhp power wise, i.e not noticable. I only got mine made into a cat back because i needed the extra space to get the Y peice in.
Clear rear lights, aye, dont matter. Best off actaully to keep checking the Classifieds on here. Theres always a burts of clear rears going up for sale. U can buy them for about £70 od (non Emark) but then obviously that risk is up to you. Otherwise, i'd say hold on for a set to come up on here. Prob pick em up for like £40-£50.

Another good mod, Clear Front lights. £99, Left hand drive lights and will need to be adjusted (screwdriver down the top) nut are really subtle n smart mod to have.

De-strip it. Get rid of the red stripes.

neil,
just thought id point out that if u are planning a 60mm drop with 17's, u will have to do some work to the arches. even with an ET49, a 60mm drop is pushing it if u plan to do nowt to the arches.
if she can be bothered to sort the arches great, but if she doesnt, get a set of matching springs and dampers with a 40mm drop.
as for the exhaust, if u are going for noise, scorpion or magnex backbox with a pipercross or K&N induction kit.
clear rear lights are ok but it depends wot colour her corsa is.
those are good enough mods for the time being, concentrate ur efforts on ICE next, then after a bit of saving up, go for a new style bodykit.

Thanks people.

She is going to mods the arches so no worrys there. So a back box is all she needs really and the magnex 6x4 looks well fat lol.

Cheers
