As above really. The car's using just about double the amount of fuel it usually does and when it gets hotter than about 90degrees the engine management light comes on for 10 mins then off, then on again, then off, then on again for ages, then off for the night and so on. Pretty random basically.
It's maybe a bit of a long shot but jus thought I'd post it up to see if anyone's had the same thing happen to them and how they fixed it.
Also, should I be able to do a paperclip test on it? Anyone got a link to a good guide on how to go about it?

mine done the same and it was the ecu temp sensor the blue plug next to the water temp sensor under the thermostate

Yeah sounds like the temp sensor, especially when it does it at a certain temperature.
there about £10 from vaux iirc

Yup, that's exactly what I thought it could be so changed it when this all started happening about a couple of months ago. I never disconnected the battery though to reset the ECU if that would make any difference?
