With tensions high in the region, the USA have made it quite clear that they won't be going in there, but will anyone else?
There are all these sanctions in place, yet N.Korea are just making a complete mockery of them all and have no regard for the UN or any other nations (apart from China who they have a trade agreement with).

Can't see it happening, alot of North Korea is unknown iirc, obviously there will be an amount of intelligence on the place but not enough.

I know what you're saying, but what if they became threatening to the point where they could be ready to launch an attack, of whatever scale, small or large..

the US could make a strike from yarsss away and NK wouldnt be able to do fuck surely?

Dont get me wrong, from what we are told, North Korea wouldnt stand a chance because apart from S.Korea they can't make a land retalliation and bordered to the north by China who are their friends, what else could they do?

a land based invasion seems highly unlikely.
Maybe SK will invade

Land invasion - Doubtfull, N Korea has the worlds largest army..... Most people are enrolled.
N-Korea wouldn't go down easy, they are all warriors.... They will fight, and actually be hard, unlike US soldiers, who have "all the gear and no idea"
America won't go in, there is no oil there to drill....

I think a war fought on the land in N.Korea would end in them winning, down to the same fact in Vietnam with foreign soldiers just not having the knowledge or capability of fighting in such conditions and environments.
An air based destruction would be the only method of making them surrender.

All true ben but I think with the new administration it will only lead to war if we/they are set on upon. The US wouldnt declare war on anyone atm imo.

North Korea isn't a threat at all, I cannot understand the usual media frenzy that is whipped up all the time.
N Korea don't have the largest army in the world, lets put this myth to bed. They have 66,000 army regulars, the rest are conscripts and ill-trained, ill-equiped part timers with 60's era Soviet weapons.
In event of a war they would mobilze the entire nation, which would end up being as massive disaster and you would just end up with the same situation as you have in Iraq/Afgahinstan where by you have civilians blowing themselves up.
You won't ever fight a regular war against Korea, because Korea knows they would loose.
So what if they test fire a few V2 style rockets, they don't have the ability to produce ICBM's they are just using ancient Russian rockets and modifiying them to go a bit further.

Any country that says they are going to step up their nuclear programme and will engage in a nuclear war if need be is a threat.
The 1 thing that continues to be in the favour of no nuclear war is the same thing that has stopped anyone in the past and that's the threat of mutual assured destruction.
