The article above is pretty interesting. Didn't quite know the complexity of the fixtures.

"...when West Ham play at home can have an impact on when a club as far away as Norwich (108.8 miles) play their home fixtures."

There was me thinking it was done by a random computer, I was aware of the scenario regards to Liverpool and Everton playing on the same day, but not the complexity throughout the football league.

Good read if you have a spare 5 mins.

The BSP fixtures are apparently drawn up by hand, rather than computer. And I'm told the Boxing Day and NYD fixtures are reversed and against local rivals.

Out of necessity, next season's play-off finals are split across two weekends, with the Championship finale taking place on the same day as the Champions League final.

That's gonna be a heavy drinking day

Yes. Although you will probably get Gateshead away, in this league anything can happen

It's more or less the same everywhere, in the Brazilian leagues, they can't have Corinthians playing on the same days as Santos, Sao Caetano and Ponte Preta (only if they're at home) because the commuters routes and bus routes would just be gridlocked, having an impact on the rest of Sao Paolo's roads/railways.
