Anyone have any first hand experience with this?
Ive found a really good opportunity to market directly to our potential customers, but the site offers both Pay Per Click and Pay Per (1000) Impression. I was wondering what the opinions were on going for either option?

I've not had any direct experience but is it cheaper paying for 1000 and are you expecting at least 1000 clicks?

Ah yeah, should of mentioned price.
Its about half the price per 1000 impressions than it is per click (approx 20p and 40p).

At that price i'd personally get 1000.
You could always give it a 14 day pay per click trial and see how it went though.

Just read a few articles online, and it appears CPM is suggested where you are advertising to a niche market, i.e. if I was doing it on a wedding website. As the % of the 1000 impressions where you would get a click would be fairly high.
But if I was doing it to a much broader audience, i.e. Google (minus adwords!) it would make sense to pay per click, as it would be a very low % per thousand to click through.
Thats fairly obvious tbh, and along the lines what I was thinking but has just confirmed it for me.

I would concentrate on getting your site search engine optimised first so that your organic search results are really good and then go down the PPC route (if you still want to), IMO (obviously I do not know if your site is already SEO).

I long for the day Cosmo turns up at my house dressed in a wedding dress, asking me to marry him.

To give you an idea, I paid for clicks and it showed 33,000 impressions and I got 167 clicks.

Was that advertising somewhere specific to what you were advertising, or just a general site?
