You show me the ratios and the final drive's for both cars, and I'll believe you. The brochure saying "close-ratio box" doesn't mean shit cos it's not comparing it to anything.

nah mate... my car tops out in 3rd at about 65 mph...
I've heard about the other 1.2's getting 80 in 3rd???

I think the nova would win. I used to have a 1.3sr and i could suprise alot of people in their corsa's. Whoever said the 1.3sr has faster 0-60 than 1.4sr is right. I dunno why though?!?
What would win out of an S reg 1.4 16v sport and an X reg Bravo HLX 1.6 16v. Both have K&N57i. The Corsa has stainless steel back box and the Bravo has mild steel back box.

The 1.3SR was quicker because it 72BHP and the 1.4SR had 60BHP.

.....Cant believe wot i'm reading. My mate has a mint 1.4 SR, and i tell u wot, the power from that thing is mad. All its had is a fun engine rebuild, K+N and the head skimmed. Believe me, i've done enuff 1.4 SRi corsas in it to know it would kill a SXi.
Oh maybe this is a one off nova?? Nah, i doubt it coz my bro's old 1.3 SR easily kept up with Corsa SRis, Sports and all that had was a K+N bolt on.
And OJC - i dont no if u remember, but on the way home from southend on sat nite i raced u twice at 2 sets of lights. Ur 1.2 SXi was on 17"s and my 1.2 8v LS was on 16s" and u hardly battered me. Fair enuff, u did me both times (wot can u expect from 45 bhp), but i tell u wot, on the way to southend that same Sat, i had 3 Red Nova SRs (in convoy) beat me with ease bout 10 times.
We've had a post very similar to this before, but it was Corsa SXi Vs Nova 1.3SR and it was agreed the nova wud kill it.
The 1.4 would do the same, with ease. It wud also batter it from a rollin start, and top speed.

That's why the point's not worth arguing... all 1.2's are slow 
Anyhow, 65mph does sound low, think my box limits at 58mph in 2nd... can't remember (haven't driven it for 2 months).

I know mine does at least 70mph in third. Havent really pushed it much further than that.
