I hate lifting with strops like that - we had a slip and the boat fell 4/5ft back onto it's dolly - fortunately it didn't do any damage but if it'd happened a minute later it would have been 20ft+ onto a concrete car park

Its very hard getting a boat of that size and weight down a slipway, our old one weighed only 2.5 tons and that nearly pulled the 4x4 into the sea.

see that contraption at the top of the slip way? sorry for the bad picture quality/size. its like a motorised cradle that can drive down the slip way and into the water. cost a bit to launch your boat with but it's cheaper than wrecking a brand new yacht.

Carl, If you look carefully I don't think the boat is being launched; I think it being retrieved onto a ship - you can see the bridge in the back ground - probably for global transportation; Gin Palaces don't actually seem to sail anywhere

Gin Palaces they do seem to pick up all the algy in the summer.
it is being loaded into a transporter.
I would of thought they could add a bit of bouncy into the upper deck so that it would self right.
