hi i have giving my x16xe a full rebuild, started it up today for the 1st time and it runs but it ideals fine for about 10 secs then revs up 2 3000rpm on its own, i havent let it go any higher i jus killed it straight away, i have check everyting i can tink of but as u lot on here are corsa sport gurus i guess one of u will have the answer i need 2 solve my running probs

make sure all your vacuum pipes are correct
one to MAP sensor, one to FPR, one to fuel tank vent valve and one to rocker cover vent valve

my m8 came down with his sport and i checked mine against and they are all gd but it still does it, sum1 said sumat about throttle body gaskets as i havent replaced them

yea if you havnt changed the gaskets between the upper and lower inlet manifolds chances are you have an air leak, get a new one and use some gasket sealant aswell

i got a brand new one of but i will get sum gasket sealant

Check the big black rubber thing that sits inbetween the TB & Top inlet manifold.When i rebuilt my Engine and started it up,It did the exact same thing and that was what my problem was.

Oops I just presumed it had a flame inlet on it!
You make sure the jubilee clips are tight on that rubber cylinder
