raising the revlimiter will just fuck ur engine m8 with lots of hard use, unless u have uprated internals to do so. fitting a super chip can raise the limiter tho, but ur engine is design to top out at a certain rpm so not to damage the engine. so best to leave it m8.

Why not get it on the rollers to see where your power and torque peaks?
You'll see power drops off before your rev limiter kicks in, Meaning a raised limit is a waste of time.

Raising it anyway will certainly kill the car, it's limited to protect the engine.

If ARP rod bolts were fitted and the engine was in good shape i.e recent rebuild i'd happily run over 7-8k rpm.
But only if the engine had been built for that purpose.
Revs can kill an engine, especially if running standard internals.

If you're fitting new piston rings then the bores must be honed and your head will be coming off so your comment of might fit a new head gasket is worrying.
If the head comes off a new gasket and head bolts should be used.

I'd get the head freshened up. New valve stem seals would be a good idea.
