When you think of the number and take away both digits, you'll end up with a multiple of 9. All multiples of 9 have the same item, and that's the one she says at the end.

25 = 10x + y

25 - x - y = 10x + y - x - y
25 - x - y = 9x

ie. 9 times the most significant digit in your original number.

If you look, every multiple of nine is the same item, yours.
