to lower coilovers do you move the platform up or down?
I'e make the spring longer or shorter ?

Move the platform down. In essence, the car is sitting on the lower platform so if you move it down, i.e. turn it counter-clockwise, it will lower the car by the amount you lower the platform.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Do you mean turn it clockwise ? as turning it clockwise would move the platform downwards ?

Clockwise when viewed vertically from the top, yes.
