paint or powder coat, what do you think is the best, im in to minds wever to have my wheels paint'd or powder coat'd but im thinking in u have a stone chip , its all got to be done again, as if you were to have paint you can touch it up yourself.

allso got a rocker cover to do as well on my c2oxe.

what does every one think??

powder coat is much harder to chip

I'd go for powder-coat on the wheels as it's a really tough coating suitable for our winter roads.

There have been a few cases of people getting grit in their engines after powder-coating their rocker covers because they weren't cleaned properly or there was powder-coat on the underside of the cover. You might want to think about painting it because you don't really need to shot blast the part before.

i had my wheels painted and the chipped in a week

had my wheels powder coated no stone chips in 5 years

if i were to paint the rocker cover surely the heat of the engine, the paint would peel, or can you buy heat proof paint, were can you get it from???

my wheels are painted and are perfect but i keep them well polished and away from kerbs, i also got my rocker and cam cover painted on my last xe corsa and there still on the car to this day with not a mark on them

you can powder coat your rocker too just make sure its clean inside

if i have it powder coated, once i get it back, should i swill under neith out with some old oil to get rid of the grit?? ect

Brake cleaner or WD40 would be a good thing to clean it all out with. Oil is a bit heavy to pick up little bits of grit, metal and paint.

With regards to painting it, they are usually OK because they don't actually get all that hot.
