Do ceiling fans have a life span? Only mine is fucked. It's a few years old, but it doesnt seem to rotate anywhere near as fast as it used to.
Any ideas?

is probably fallen apart inside so its slipping. mine has done this. no way to fix it either.

 Ah man. Guess I'll need a new one. My room is way too hot and if I leave the window open I get big ass moths bouncing around off the walls.

I've got a nice big desk fan pointed at me all night. Spins slow enough not to keep me awake but pushes masses of air my way. Lovely

is it a three speed fan? you should be able to tell if its slipping when you change up in speed. you could always stick your hand in there when its spinning to see if it slips too i guess...

Yeah tis 3 speed. I'll crank it up from the slowest to the fastest, but I sharnt be sticking my hand in there

right its probably a problem with the motor windings then. i thought you said it was running but slowly, but if it barely turns at all then it sounds like the motor. either way its a replacement job.

I only ever have it on fast, and that runs slowly. So when it went on the slowest speed it was then I noticed it hardly moved.

I had a ceiling fan in the house in Florida that was shit hot, the noise of it put me to sleep
