Hasnt happened to me, i did note though in my documents that when the policy expires they will automatically deduct the premium amount, not good if its raised by 50% or something. Have you checked your bank to see if tesco`s have been cheeky?

put a bar on your account? does that mean your insurance was invalid for the last few months?

i asked that and they said no. i think they meant that makin account amendments wouldnt be easy. like if i rang to change car i would of had to go through management for security reasons to make sure noone else changes my details... ( does that make sense im crap at explaining)

@ joff with the compo idea

No, seriously.

It should be their obligation to give you notification if there is any change to your policy that could leave you uninsured for any period of time.

there wasnt any changes made though. basically i kept my ins goin for my ex even though we had split up kus he took the car, but then i got my own car so obviously i wanted to add it to the policy. i took him off and apparantly he rang them and tried to change it back to his car. the only thing they didnt do wrong is inform me that he was tryin to do this

Right, as long as you weren't left with no cover.

Sounds like your ex need a few polite words in his shell-like.
