I know a few of you do a bit of web design and coding. What web host do you use? I need a fairly cheap but reliable host. Any recommendations?

Fractix does seem very cheap indeed.

I want to run a shopping cart. Any other suggestions?

I use Webfusion for one. They're good, but I think you can get more 'stuff' for your money. One thing I could do with is being able to setup CRON jobs (scheduled events) which they don't let you do. I use Streamline.net for another site, but all I use that for is e-mail at the moment - they're cheap and pretty good.

If you want a free shopping cart, get a server that lets you run PHP an MySQL (all Linux hosting lets you do that). You can get a free shopping cart called OS Commerce. Open source stuff is pretty handy actually - though you might need to make a few mods to it to make it look good

Yea I've been looking at OS Commerse and intend on using this. Next step is sorting out a host. Then I can set up the shop and get to work on the design and styling.

Both those sites you mentioned look good but why is Fractix so much cheaper?
