Is this so you can fight off the growing line of people that you have stolen money from?

I wouldn't go into a cage fight without having any ground experience, join an mma class or like bigboykarl said take up jujitsu. Its a whole different ball game when your on the floor!

you dont have to be a ground expert!
but you can learn it as you go along train in mma for a few month before taking a fight imo

Cagefighting is basically MMA.
A good knowledge of Judo, Ju Jitsu are recommended though things like kyukashinki is useful too

as people have said you need to get yourself to an mma club and train all aspects of mma and gain a reasonable well rounded game before thinking of entering into any mma fight.
If you have been training boxing this will obviously be of an advantage to you as you will know the basics etc, to add to your stand up, you will need a decent ground game(bjj/wrestling etc). Alot of people will learn the different styles seperatly at different clubs and then train them altogether at an mma club. Thats eventually what ill be doing once i have the time, iv been training a couple of months now at Bury Predators and absolutely loving it. get yourself on cagewarriors.com if your serious about getting into mma fella.

Either do the basic platform combats as people have stated or go and live in South America for a week, you'll be clubbing the little prats allover for fun soon enough.

don't matter where he fights if he ain't got ground fighting skills the minute he fights some one who has he's finished..
