Hopefully, I'll never need the safety protection of a roll cage, but the other benefit is that it stiffens up the shell massively, with big improvements in handling. That's my main reason for sticking one in (and of course it does look pretty damn good too )

Hi Adam - yeah still in Cumbria for the time being. Nice part of the world if you don't mind the Ready Brek glow radiating from your body

Aberdeenshire is still a possibility, although not just yet (partner problems ). I am visiting in late April, so would be good to compare notes then. I'm definitely up for some track days this year, though as you say, I'd rather not be sharing the track with some lunatic driving a scabby old XR3i!!

Never mind the Xr3i's u need to watch out for loony scottish people driving 2.0litre corsas with only half a dash. Heard those kinda people are fruticakes behined the wheel

Getting a shell to that state of tune is a major job, Dave at BAT took about 7 weeks over his although that did include building complete new rear arches and it wasn't a brand new shell to start with. Even if he reserved 50% of the working week for it, thats still over 3 grand labour. Thats why I opted to buy his old one rather than modify my own
