Im replacing me gear knob back to the orig one with lift up collar. The problem I got at the moment is that when I lift up the collar the spring doesn't push it back down again so it stays lifted. The collar section is a bit stiff to move?!
Any ideas what I can do to make it work people?

Tried kicking it! Even tried hitting it all sorts began to annoy me. Still driveable just have watch dont put it in reverse instead of 1st. Gear knob I got is Vaux one complete circular designed for lift up anyway.
Chopped old one off got new gear knob now
