driving down the motor way there this evening an was about 5 mins from my destination and the battery light came on, the belt is still on and tight and the pulgs and alll are in, i havent notticed the light dimming like the last time the alternator went (i put a second hand one on)
what could my problem be? its a 96 1.7 diesel by the way if that makes a difference.

put a volt meter/multi meter accross the battery, with the engine running and all lights on it should be ticking over at 13.5 to 14.5 volts

if its not then its obv the bloody alternator then.. getting sick of this car..lol
