No
It pitts the wheels. all it does is take the paint off, doesnt remove any marks on the wheels

its doing my head in rubbing back the wheels with sand paper, i have to get all the paint off too because where ever it is its reacting with the new paint.

It keys them up for primer as well does it not? If you didn't blast them you'd need to rub them down I'd think.
edit: way ahead of me gez

plastic media is similar to walnut shells i believe, doesn't leave it pitted like sand/shot, but more expensive, last time i looked acid dipping then painting was £90 a wheel including tyre removal and refitting, so probably £30 a wheel but not totally sure

Plastic Media Blasting is what you need, not many companies use it. Its what my mate uses at his blasting business and finish is almost perfect.

If using nitromors cover the wheels with bin bags as it keeps the vapours in and makes it work a lot better

sand blasting is quite aggressive but something like, glass or plastic beed blasting or aluminium oxide is really good and leavs a smooth finnish.
other than that take the tyres off and nito the buggers and take all the paint off
