CHELSEA want Patrick Vieira - if an appeal against their transfer ban is a success.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti sees Vieira as a perfect replacement for Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel when the pair go to the African Nations in January.
Vieira, 33, has not played for Inter Milan this term and watched Chelsea beat Liverpool on Sunday.
The Blues cannot sign players for the next two transfer windows after the Gael Kakuta saga. And they face competition from Vieira's old club Arsenal.

Henry will be back at Arsenal this summer or next IMO + his cotnratc runs out soon, Player/Coach role I reckon, Wenger made light of the fact at w/e that he wants to groom him to be his successor

They 'didn't need him' because 'he wasn't even their best player'.
And yes.

Nonsense! No one ever said that, he was negatively affecting our play at the time though as everything was going through him. I reckon personally that Wenger took a gamble and first season at Barca proved himr ight, second proved him oh so wrong

I think getting rid of him was a good move because the club was too relying on him. Since he has left the club is a better place because each player is trying to step up. He is still world class but playing for Arsenal was a hinderance.
I think it would be interesting to see him come back and see how he performed when everytyhing was not built around him.
Not sure he would suit the killer sub role
