90 days from now, anyone else up for seeing if they can "bring it" without having to knock one out over gay porn dvd demonstrations?
I'm determined to get fittest i've ever been for football. Harder, faster, better stronger. ANyone else game? set yourself some personal targets and see how you do? Think I might use a 1mile time, a 5 mile time, dips amount, squats or leg press and flat bench barbell bench press as my indicators see how much progress I can make.

Good idea mate...
Don't forget to take before and after pics though...
Would be interesting to see how it compares, people claim p90x in 90 days gives better gains than gym goers get in over 2 years...
So will be interesting to see who gets best gains... will spur me on more too...
Bring it on
Even though p90x is not cardio based, my favourite exercise is running... I would be happy to challenge your 1 mile / 5 mile time once I've finished p90x...
I used to be a long distance runner and prior to p90x was quite into interval training to increase my pace... However feeling the effect of p90x already, I can tell it's going to help my running too! (weird huh)...
I'm up for your challenge in the running, and say pressups, dips and squats.

You would be challenging your own times really but would be good to see and maybe a motivation to put it down on here.
AS for gains and taking pictures, that p90 will give better aesthetic gains with the cutting malarky I suspect.
I might make a note of weight, maybe do a few measurements for the first time ever.

I've just joined a gym, and I did take 'before' pics. So give it a couple of months and I'm game for some comparisons.

nevermind then Carl, I think we're both aiming for different goals then anyway.
But the legs work outs in p90x are really good, both plyometrics and the legs section... they're designed to give explosive changes in direction ideal for sports like football.

Im going to do it the none P90 way.
Velocity 3.0 diet, my own training programme and i might even have a word wit the chemical general just for a little boost. ill do before and after pics. xmas eve will be my deadline!
Not going to do any strenght goals as ive already done my strength bout and finished it this week... 110kg deadlift, 95kg benchpress and 90kg squat. 5 reps of each and thats whilst not on gear.
My next stage will be mobility, power and endurance training so lots of high rep dynamic moves to burn fat and loosen up after all the strength training. then hypertrophy 1+2 up till xmas eve and we shall see how well i can do!

I've just started back the gym for similar reason.
I'll keep you updated and maybe even post some progress pics

Going to add a 1000 metres on rower and my weight, see how that correlates.

Ive been on a diet and pure cardio for 7 weeks, followed by 5 weeks of cardio and weights. Ive lost about 2 stone, and lost about 7 inches around my waist.
I think the next 12 weeks will start to see me really tone up and look good. I was a chunky butt, but im down to a normalish size (5ft 11, 194lb and 18%BF)
Want to get down to 12% BF for next summer!

Well I had to bulk up when I was a little whipper snapper playing football, the thing is, you're probably better off not playing at all until you're a mammoth.

Dan, the only thing I'd warn you about... is I once was obsessed solely with cardio / weight loss... I lost a total of about 3 and a half stone, but was never happy...
You have to remember if you're burning fat at a fast rate, your body will also burn the muscle!! I found this out the hard way, so I never got the body i wanted and kept trying to lose fat to achieve it.
When I look back at how skinny I got, it's hilarious.
This is why p90x appeals to me so much, you build muscle, lose fat and tone.

yea paul. Nothing worse than a skinny toned person imo. Maybe i worded it wrong, but im no way obsessed with weight loss. The first part of my diet was pure weight loss to get me down to a decent size. Now the past 5 weeks i haven't lost a single 1lb, but im changing shape. my goal is to lose body fat but stay around the same weight.
Because of my job im constantly lifting heavy weights etc, so im already pretty big from 8 years of it. I think its around 20lb of fat i need to lose for my goal.
