right im a second year apprentice doing welding and fab and heard off someone theres a minimum wage for it as im 22 but cant find anything about it. Means another 40 quid a week to me if its correct as im on pants pay at the minute

No min wage if your an apprentice unless your over 25.

Apprentices
From pay reference periods starting on or after 1 October 2006 the special rules for apprentices will be extended to apprentices aged over 25. This will mean that:
apprentices under age 19 will not qualify for the national minimum wage
apprentices over age 19 and in the first 12 months of their apprenticeship will not qualify for the national minimum wage.

minimum wage in general is
18-21 = £4.83
22 + = £5.80
dont know the difference for an apprentice though.

If you're over 19 and in your second year of an apprenticeship then (given you're 22) you should be on £5.80 an hour.

any were proper that has it in writing so i cant print it off and give it my boss and tell him to sort it
