depends which iphone it is, the 3g and 3gs it a lot easier as the screen and digitiser bit are all one and they are about £40-50 but on the 2gs it is seperate and about £70ish for the screen. I only know this as I have a 2g that needs a new screen and thought in the end i will try and get it done somewhere

The screen and digitiser are all one piece on the 2G. The 2G is a pain in the arse to replace the screen on, the 3G is supposed to be easier but can't comment as I've never done one.

Changed the screen on one the other day was a tricky fucker to get apart.

Screen and digitiser were all one, and customer had only bought a screen so awaiting both coming to refit.

Go into an Apple shop and just tell them what happened, you may be lucky and get a nice assistant and get a new one.

My mate dropped his, broke the screen, tried to fit a new screen himself, fucked it up even more, went in to get them to fix it, they found the tiniest crack on the back casing and replaced it even though it was him who fucked it up.

Nice one. Even if they don't do that I think you can get a refurb one in exchange for the broke one for a few squid.

Lloyds TSB premium banking gives you mobile phone insurance and cheap cover. You have to wait so long to claim though, £30 excess I think.

Well worth it even if you're not going to 'fraud' it.

Mine is cracked on the rear casing. Is that something warranty covers? I have no idea how it happened!

EDIT: Searched on google, looks like a common problem. Booked to go to Apple Store tomorrow eve

Yeah, it was a tiny crack at the bottom where the charger plugs in, it didn't affect it but the guy just gave him a new one so yeah worth a try.
