Hey there

Key broke on the weekend while opening the boot, but luckily culd still sulvage the other half, but had to get home. So tried my luck and put the half in the ignition and tried to start the car, luckily it started but firstly it wont start again and also the half is now stuck inside
How can i get it out the ignition barrel without breaking it?

pick at it with a thin thin flat head screw driver.. Abit of a daft thing to do really mate. Pos new barrel

What happens when you just push the broken bit with the 'handle' end against it and try to turn it.

solder the key back together then get it out

Melt some solder onto the bit he still has, then offer it to the barrel half and try and heat up the other half? Might be crazy enough to work

Maybe

Put some tinfoil on either side so it sticks to that instead of the barrel? That's if it will even stick to it.

well he asked for a cure to his stupid predicament. i'm offering a solution.

surely it can't be flat with the barrel? must be some bit of key sticking out?

if as above, pull out with pliers if possible, if not, new barrel imo.

Buy some broken key extractors or a lock pick set. When i was a locksmith i had some key extractors in my pick set.

Reason it wont start is prolly due to the immobiliser. You need the black 'handle' part of the key near the barrel. How did u manage to turn it if there isnt much sticking out???
