I aint protecting the pig's here, but it is an offence to park within 25 feet of a pedestrian crossing (or otherwise marked with zig zag markings)
Straight 3 points and/or Fine. No bones about it.
The could have told him to move, or just moved on........But what do u expect? they are wánkers.
Don't give them the chance to be arseholes next time!

Here it is, also with which section of the law it falls under.
You MUST NOT park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines.
You MUST NOT overtake the moving vehicle nearest the crossing or the vehicle nearest the crossing which has stopped to give way to pedestrians.
Laws ZPPPCRGD regs 18, 20 & 24 & RTRA sect 25(5)

I got 3 points for the same thing, and while I was sat in the police car, they had two calls for an assault and and a robbery which they blatantly ignored!

my husband got caught with the same thing. parked front wheels touching zig zags for 5 mins and he got a pc30 - standard 3 points and a £60 fine.

they were stringing you along hoping you would bite and go off your not.
make an appeal, and keep sending it over and over and over till something is heard.
most likely he'll keep the points bu tworth a try.

as far as i know from doing law modules at uni they cant give you points there and then. you can either plead guilty by letter in which case u get em or u can take it too magistrates court where you may get away scot free. depends on how good your cousin is at talking.

Thats why you never tell em you've got your license, cos if they gonna give you points they can take it from you and issue a receipt for it.
He'll have no grounds for appeal, the law is the law, a complaint about attitude would be a different matter but the appeal will fall flat on its face.

The law is the law........ and it does say that parking on a zebra crossing zig zags is a three point offence......nothing to comaplain about really...the cops are there to enforce the law....he broke it so sorry mate, he wont do it next time
